Warmer Weather
So spring is on its way, here a few bangers for the nice warm weather. Hope you enjoy
Duke - So In Love With You
Classic German dance song from 1994, was big in the 90/00 with bad remixes. Perfect for summer.
A Mountain Of One - The Innocent Line
Much Hyped British band, sounding like Fleetwood Mac in Ibiza in the 80's something like that.. but what ever trying to explain, perfect for the beach or your yacht.

Shake Shake
Sorry for the hiatus but the sudden shock of Gary's sex change really took me and his family by surprise. Thankfully got some new songs to get us over this shock and wish Gary well in his new way of life.
Plus Device - My, To Make You Feel
The still unnamed duo debut is great coming over like Ame, Bambaata and Metro Area making love in the back of a Convertable in the 80's. Well you get the idea, Just straight up good ol' electro funk.
Chromeo - Fancy Footwork (Zdar Dub)
New Chromeo EP, and I will always have a soft spot for the Montreal by way of NYC duo. Not to impressed with the new EP, however the Zdar Dub is great turning the original into a stomping italo workout.
Bo'tox - Lada Rock
Don't know much about this record, if anyone knows anymore info about em' please tell me. All I can say this is a great track. Hope to hear new stuff from them/he/her soon.

Cape Town in the summer
Yes its that time of year again. the trek home to cape town. the city by the sea.
if you going to be heading down there, heres some tunes for this summer. And feel free to stop by richard's pad and drink his booze.
Sidiku Buari - Advice from the father
Classic disco vibes straight from the dark continent. Designed for pure hedonism...
Farben - Live at the Sahara Tahoe, 1973
One of the sexiest tracks ever made. An alias of Jan Jelinek, not too new, but a classic none the less. perfect for watching coked-up bitches making out to.
Willie Hutch - Brothers gonna work it out
The opener on the Chemical Bro's mixtape of the same name. Never fails on those days hangin by the beach. Mr Hutch was a true visionary, and hearing this, theres no denying.
Barry and Jenny want you to have fun
Its true. Nothing gets Baz and Jen's blood going like young people taking drugs and having sex. Anyways, now for the music.
Francis Monkman - Theme to The Long Good Friday
An absolute classic British gangsta movie circa 1980. Bob Hoskins is fuckin incredible. Its a rather short track, but nonetheless a true gem.
Lee Perry - Jingle Lion
Taken from Madlib's amazing Blunted in the bomshelter. I have yet to find the original, but for now this will do. Incredible drum break, fucking oozes out the stereo. pure funk. even richard likes it.
UNESCO Recording of Baka Pygmies - Music for the Naganga dance
Something a little different. One of the best releases I've heard this year. The Baka Pygmies of central Africa are masters at using the voices. The man on this recording sounds like he came straight from Motown. Not for everyones taste, but you never know until you hear.....
Thats it for now. Richard is currently in Peru getting a very cheap facelift and should be in good spirits shortly. He would appreciate any emails of kindness to see how he is doing.
Cheers

Ann Morris is leaving
A little something to warm you up, from the Dirk Eskimo.
Trip To Balearock
"In certain pockets of the interweb, there is a quiet revitilazation of one of the more forgotten subgenres in dance music history. Some may refer to it as Balearic (in reference to its origin on the Balearic island of Ibiza, Spain, in the ’80s), others call it ‘Balearock’ (because of its psychadelic vibe) and some SoCal residents have coined the term ‘Pacifica’ to describe its breezy, sleazy and somewhat cheesy sound. Labels like Eskimo Recordings are leading the revival, so we asked label owner Dirk Eskimo to give us a whiff of what Balearic or Balearock or whatever really smells like. Needless to say, we’re diggin’ the fume".

Good Times
So been away for a while finally getting back into regular post. Went to Justice and Digitalism last week at studio B in Brooklyn. WOW!! I haven't seen a crowd like that before in NYC... Justice played a much harder sound then when I saw them last feb.
Looking forward to the LP.
In other news the UK boys and San Fransico guys are doing some amazing stuff. Firstly ex one half of "switch" Trevor Loveys" who's stuff is really pushing house music forward yet not forgeting the past. As well as man of the moment Claude Von Stroke, whos getting play from Rub n Tug to the prog and minimal guys. Hope u enjoy! Plus a lil' bonus by Ten City, Marshal Jefferson, R & B group from the 80's.. Gotta' love the piano!
Voodoo Child VS Trevor Loveys - Finger Jackin'
Claude Von Stroke - Beware Of The Bird (Justin Martin Remix)
